When it comes to crochet, unique stitching and texture are the key to a spectacular finished product. The Sephine Slouch Hat is just that, with lovely texture that really captures the eye. The combination of a lacy shell stitch and a puff stitch are what create the unique texture in this trendy spring accessory.
I chose Red Heart Soft yarn in a beautiful, rich shade of purple called ‘Grape’. This yarn has such a nice sheen to it and is so pleasant to work with. It just glides right over the hook.
ADD THIS PATTERN TO YOUR RAVELRY QUEUE OR FAVORITES
Initially, this pattern is worked from the bottom-up to create the body of the hat. The top is decreased slightly and then cinched closed. Afterwards, you join your working yarn at the front of the hat where you would like the button to be placed and continue working to create the overlapping tabs of the band.
For a neat effect, create a star-shaped closure on the top of the hat by following THIS TUTORIAL by Stitch & Hustle.
